First Day of School!

As promised (over a month ago!) here are the "First Day of School" pictures for Nicholas & Caroline.

Here is Nicholas with the all-star teacher 4th grade Mrs. Johnson (formerly known as Miss Clark)! She married about a week after school ended in June, and we're all still getting used to her new name. Fortunately, she still the same awesome teacher! Almost all of the teachers at School "loop", which means they'll have the same class (for the most part) for two years. She taught Nicholas in 3rd grade, and now has him for 4th grade.














At School, all of the 1st graders go enter "Camp C" for their first week of school. Each student is assigned a "Camp C teacher" which is one of the 3 1st grade teachers. During that week, the 1st graders then spend large blocks of time with each of the 3 different teachers. This allows C School to assess each student, and then to balance the classrooms accordingly.














All summer, Caroline told us that her teacher would be Mrs. Griffy, who is a VERY fun teacher (her classroom feels like a Caribbean island, minus the steel drummer). Caroline's response when entering her room the first time was a dramatic "wow"...

She was assigned to Mrs. Miller for "Camp C", which she really liked. Mrs. Miller even has two Boston Terriers, named Weasley (for Harry Potter) and Yoda (for obvious reasons). Way up on the cool pole for us!

Still, when that first Friday came and we learned who her teacher was...it was Mrs. Griffy! Caroline smugly replied, "I told you I was going to have Mrs. Griffy for my teacher." Who are we to doubt her?
