Football Season!!!
Football season has started! We are so excited in the Holland house because football season is under way! Last night we got to watch Nick's world champion Steelers in HD and I had a giddy hubby on my hands. Also, Nicholas has been practicing for almost 2 weeks now, 4-5 days a week and although he is loving it he is one tired kiddo!! This year the coaching staff has him playing center---yes, laugh out loud! My skinny, tall, lanky guy is the center. Apparently he is a natural in that position. He is also playing right tackle for the defense! I will post pictures soon. So for now enjoy this football background. I will change it to honor my beloved Georgia Bulldogs once their season kicks off!!

Caroline's Birthday, Part 2
Happy Birthday Caroline, with cake and candles, and definitely presents!
If you've read the Part 1 post, you know that we were off and running on a super-fabulous day. After our gallivanting around town, we went to Caroline's favorite Mexican restaurant, "El Molinos". It's her buddy Anna Grace's favorite place too-in fact, Caroline usually calls it "Anna Grace's place". It's probably the best Mexican food in town, but Caroline likes it because of the chicken tenders and fries...go figure.
They did surprise her with a HUGE chocolate and whipped cream covered scoop of fried ice-cream in the cinammon tortilla...our veins clogged up even as I typed that...
Still, it was delicious!
We were really too full to eat it, but hey, somebody had to...We've already paid for that one, several times over.
After that, we headed home to open presents and have a quiet afternoon playing and resting. Caroline had a fantastic afternoon, playing with her new doll Kitt Kittredge, and having Kitt, Mia, and Fancy Nancy sleep in the new bunk-trundle bed system that Grammy & Papa sent. After that, she enjoyed playing "Barbie Horse Camp" on the Wii (her first, very own game for the Wii).
We finished the day off with a "fireworks" cake, which was really a confetti cake out of a box. Karen baked it, Otis helped himself to a chunk while it cooled, and I iced/decorated...what a team!
Hope you enjoyed sharing her birthday with her by reading this post...She's still accepting presents, of course...

Happy Birthday Caroline, Part one!
Happy Birthday to our Baby Girl! Caroline turned a whopping 6 years old, and we celebrated in an old-fashioned way; We went to Home Depot and built a message center!
We got up very early, and made the trek to Collierville to "Oh Susannah's" doughnut shop, where Caroline will have her birthday party later in the month. She and about 9 other friends get to pound dough, cut doughnuts, make a kitty-cat out of doughnuts, and bake their very own doughnuts...WHAT A HOOT THAT WILL BE!
We had to book her party in person and pay a deposit, so off we went. Then, we piled back in the van and drove to The Home Depot back near our house, for Caroline and Nicholas to participate in the Home Depot "Young Builders Project" (or something like that). One Saturday a month, kids can go to Home Depot and build the "project of the day" for free - they get to keep the project, and get a snazzy home depot apron and collectible pin. Amazing!
Caroline had two good friends and their parents meet us there; Mary Ann and Emma Shuler. Here's a slideshow of all the "Bob" and "Bobbi" the builders!
And finally, everyone poses with their masterpieces!
