Nicholas as "Sequoya", a 'Famous Tennessean'

In Mrs. Adams' 2nd grade class, each student did a presentation on a famous Tennessean, and Nicholas chose Sequoya, the father of the Cherokee alphabet!

Here he is dressed as Sequoya (as best as possible), presenting to the class, along with his PowerPoint show!

H
e received a good grade on his presentation!

Granddaddy's Chair

We were blessed with a chair passed down by my Granddaddy, via my big sis Lorri. Granddaddy had a tremendous high "Queen Anne's" chair, that was covered in leather with buttons and other decor.

After decades of wear and use, the leather was not in good shape, so we decided to cover it in a fabric for a time. We tried to maintain the classic look, while giving it an updated and fresh feeling. Here's what we came up with...

In the words of the guys who recovered it; "It's a beauty..."

C S Fall Festival

Nicholas' elementary school, hosts a "Fall Festival" every year, and this year it was off tha chain...

It's actually a city School, but it's called C S because it is on the corner of The U of M! We are on a modified year-round schedule (somewhat like the old quarter system); he goes for about 9 weeks, and can then take 2 weeks off, or have a week of cool elective courses & one
week off. He "chose" the electives and one week of fall break this past October!

We were chased indoors because of foul weather, so the entire school was jammed into their already too small building! Here are some shots from Fall Festival 2007!
Here are C-3PO, and the black kitty posing for the camera...

The sign in the background is one of the School mottos; be respectful!

Where in the world did this little kitty get that big red apple?

From Snow White of course! She did make the poison go away...

One of their favorite activities was
ironically, pumpkin bowling! What can I say? He's a natural...

C-3PO fraternizes with the enemy for a moment...Hey! He had chocolate ~
and a blaster!

The "Elegant Event"

Every year, the "Froggy Four" class at Sycamore View Pre-School hosts an "Elegant Event" in celebration of the letter "E". Each "froggy four" comes to school highly dressed, enjoys formal dancing, an "elegant" meal, and a excellently fun time complete with Escorts!

This is Logan, here Elegant Escort for the Evening (OK...day).

Here is Caroline with her Extraordinary place mat, detailing the predestined location of her choice favorites...

Here is a glimpse of the Entire Excellent Entourage! (OK, maybe just Most of the gang)

This is BFF "Capital K" (Nick's name for her). To the rest of the world, she's Kennedy...Oh, and her handsome Escort Justin.

Hope you Enjoyed!

Caroline's Soccer Team

Caroline started Soccer this year, and has the same coach that Nicholas had when he first started...Yay Coach April! Here's Caroline cheesing with her best pal Kennedy...

Let's hear it for the SHARKS!

This is her best friend Kennedy, taking it to the "Hizzay", as it were...

Here's Caroline riding the pine with the boys...not to worry though. These are the starting three! (or at least the starting two with a great cheerleader)

Caroline is not overly athletic, but sure does enjoy the team. She still wonders why she doesn't have to wear her pink sparkly belt with her uniform!

Memphis vs. Arkansas State: The Super-Soaker 2007

Noah! Bring the Ark!!!

The Mighty Sound made the trek to Jonesboro, Arkansas on Sept 8th for the football game between the ASU Indians and our Memphis Tigers!

It was a day of crazy details gone bad, which makes Nick go postal! Here is one of Nicholas' best buddies Cole, who made the trip with us. He is so eloquently foreshadowing our impending doom...

The ASU police changed our parking zone without telling us -
3 of our 7 buses unloaded in one place, while the other 4 were forced to unload on the OTHER SIDE of the stadium...Boo them!

We were fed dinner by the Band Alumni Chapter (awesome!), and then sat in the stands. The ASU band was on the sideline about to begin their pregame show, and then...

It come a floodin'!

It was 5:45 PM, and the game was set to begin at 6:00...and it rained...

Here are Dad & Nicholas after the first cloudburst...

It was 6:30 PM, and the game was officially delayed 1 hour...and it still rained...

Of course to Caroline, it's always a party!

It was 8:00 PM, and the game was
officially delayed more...with the intent to still play...and it still rained...
Karen and Carol Parker celebrate Tiger Football with the camera!

It was 9:30
PM, and the game was officially postponed...and the raining slowed to a drizzle!

It was the lighting that
wrecked it for all of us!

So, the MIGHTY SOUND will try it again on Thursday night, September 27th!

So long Jonesboro...Boo!

Football Season!

Nicholas began his first season of Flag-Football, joining the Colts from Hope Presbyterian. His team won their first game 18-0 over the Raiders. Nicholas had a touchdown pass, a touchdown reception, and an interception! Here are some shots from the first game...
