In early July, Caroline had her tonsils taken out! It was necessary due to frequent strep throat infections. She was such a BRAVE little trouper! As we waited at they surgery center she said to me "Mom, this is o-kay. I feel good about it." Very shortly after that, they came and got her. We walked with her to the buddy tunnel where she picked out her toy. Then she hugged us right before she walked away with her nurse and Hally (a special gift from Becca and Lindsey). She and Hally both had their tonsils out. Caroline did so great! She refused pain medicine after 36 hours and went to church 2 days after surgery. She ate ice cream and mac and cheese for like 4 days straight (don't worry she had a note from her MD to do this). She was officially released from the surgeon yesterday and the first thing she did was have a piece of gum and a little while later ate popcorn as she watched Alice in Wonderland. Life is good. Here is a picture of her in recovery reading the instructions on what she could and could not eat. Then as we got home with her special ice pack and Hally (notice Caroline and Hally's matching bandages from their IV's--too cute). We are so thankful that all went well and we did not have any complications.
