It seems that everyday I am constantly amazed at my children. Over the past couple of weeks I catch myself just looking at them in awe of the little people they are becoming! Today was a crazy day. I had to work, Nick had a gig down town etc, etc. We were totally going to be playing tag! But in all of the craziness it was a day I caught myself smiling a lot---
While we were driving to church this morning Caroline had a copy of a sing along Bible. She decided that she was going to read Bible stories and prayers all the way to church. To be completely honest I wasn't really listening at first. Caroline has been "reading" since she could talk, but after a minute or two I found my mouth hanging open because Caroline was really reading the words as they were printed! She missed a few here and there but Oh! it was such a sweet sound! I love hearing my children read, especially the word of God!! Nick and I have always prayed that our children would LOVE to read. It seems to be happening. Yesterday Nicholas--who is more than 1/2 way through the 4th Harry Potter book (he just started reading them at the end of March) said "mom, I have discovered something new about myself--I love to read!" I could not be more excited because that is one of my most favorite things to do as well.
But in Nicholas' opinion the most important milestone of the day is the fact that he is 4'8" tall. For those of you who don't know why that is so important it is because Nicholas is tall enough that he no longer has to ride in a booster seat! I measured him while at work today and he was over the moon excited!! One day soon I will have to post the fact that he is taller than his mom!!!

What a sweet post, Karen. I'm sure that was an awesome moment hearing her reading God's Word aloud. I look forward to that very soon! As far as Nicholas being tall enough to be out of the booster--how can this be, already?? And yes, you're right, the next post will be that he's outshot his own mom! :)
May I also affirm you as a busy mom for finding yourself smiling a lot on such a busy day! I know that sometimes if we allow them to, those busy days are joy-drainers. I know I've fallen prey to the joy-drainers from time to time, but Praise God for the joy that He supplies and is so faithful to pour into us just when we need it! Enjoyed reading this. I'm sorry I'm behind in my blogging, I've exceeded my storage allowance with picasa/google/blogger, so I'm puzzled with what I should do now. If I delete albums off of picasa, then they disappear from my blog, so there in lies my predictament. I'm thinking on it. We'll find a solution sometime soon. I've got to get the fun pics from the b-day/recital weekend up!! She was adorable! Love y'all!
Hey there! I use Photo Bucket, and haven't gotten near my max yet, even with all of the slide shows. Check it out: photobucket.com. Karen says "thanks" for the sweet post. ~ N
