The New Orleans Bowl 2007

The ENTIRE Holland Clan (minus the pooch) went on the Bowl Game trip with the "Mighty Sound of the South" this December, which was a first for our family! Normally, Mom stays home with the kids & Hallelujah, while Dad treks all over the place with the marching band or the basketball pep band.

We spent 3 days in New Orleans, and enjoyed a nice trip! The Tigers got crushed in the game (44-27), but we still had a great time. Nick enjoyed a "that's never happened moment" - near the end of the MSS Pep Rally Thursday night on Jackson Square, a long-time Tiger fan proposed to his now fiancé! We didn't know what to do, so we played the Fight Song for them. What a hoot!

Enjoy this photo album with some pictures -

Just a block from our hotel was the "Winter Wonderland" seen in some of the pictures - very neat! Other photos include Caroline and her Froggy-Four Class Pet, "Cha Cha" the tree frog. Cha Cha gets to spend a week or so with each student in the class, and wherever Cha Cha goes, the families are supposed to take pictures to document his travels. Cha Cha enjoyed Cajun food, the pretty lights from the 19th floor of the Hilton, and of course, hanging with the "Mighty Sound of the South"!

The hardest part of the trip was that we had to leave right after the game ended to get back to Memphis for a basketball game against Georgetown on Saturday morning 12/22! That was tough! At least we beat Georgetown, which made it somewhat worthwhile!
